Monterey County Fire Chiefs Association
The Monterey County Fire Chiefs Association (MCFCA) represents Fire Chiefs and Chief Officers from fire agencies within Monterey County. The MCFCA contains various sections including the Monterey County Fire Training Officers, Monterey County Fire Prevention Officers, and the Monterey County Fire and Arson Investigators. The MCFCA also maintains sub-committees including Operations, Dedicated Fire Dispatch, EMS, and EMS Liaison. The MCFCA continues to represent the Monterey County fire service with appointments to the Area Fire Coordinator group, the Local Grant Approval Authority, (GAA) and the local Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI).
Local fire agencies have agreed to cooperate with the Monterey County Fire Chiefs Association in following procedures, standards, operations, communications, and mutual aid as set forth in the Monterey County Fire Chiefs Association Fire Operations Manual.
The Monterey County Fire Chiefs Association meets on the second Monday of every other month at various locations throughout Monterey County. Membership in the MCFCA is open to fire chiefs and chief officers from fire agencies within Monterey County along with representatives from associated agencies and organizations.

Monthly meetings of the Monterey County Fire Chiefs Association for 2026 are held on the second Monday of every other month starting at 1330 hours.
