MEETING MINUTES OF DECEMBER 13, 2001
MONTEREY FIRE DEPARTMENT

Call to Order: President Harald Kelly called the meeting to order. Meeting started at 1030 hr.

  4. Motion for November 8th, 2001 Minutes made by Stewart Roth; Second by John Trekker. Motion passed.

    SPECIAL PRESENTATION:

    Chief Glass of made a presentation regarding the team building meeting at Leadership Monterey. Chief Glass requested a minor financial commitment to pay for lunch. Motion made by Mike Vindhurst and Seconded by Stewart Roth. Motion passed by all

  6. Beginning Balance (10/031/01) of $35,109.68

    Total Inflows: $6,076.00

    Total Outflows: $-7991.69

    Ending Balance (11/30/01) of $33,193.99

    Motion made by President Kelly to approve treasury report. Seconded by David Brown. Motion passed.

    1. ICS:

Marina DPS will be holding an ICS 200 Class taught by D/C Shuler from Carmel Valley Fire Department and B/C John Trenner from Carmel Fire Department. For more info, call President Kelley at 884-1210. hkelley@ci.marina.ca.us

                    John Trenner is looking into an ICS Safety Officer (401) Program in March.

    1. Wildland:

Dates for Wildland are June 20, 21, 22, 23 – 2002. More to follow.

                    C. Fire Library:

                Still need to put together a work day for the library. Henry will schedule and advise.

D. Programs:

Stewart Roth showed a slide presentation from the RIC Class it was well received.

Elevator Class is scheduled for March 1st or 2nd 2002 at the Monterey Conference Center. For more info contact President Kelley at 884-1210. Hkelley@ci.marina.ca.us

Stewart Roth now coordinates High-Rise. Monterey Fire Department is having a high-rise drills on January 30th, 31st, and February 7th, 2002. Class is from 1000-1200hrs with Drill from 1300hrs to 1600hrs. If interested contact David Brown at 648-3110 or dbrown@pgfire.com

Stewart Roth announced that the web page changes have been completed for this month, check’em out. D/C Mike Ventimiglia has been doing an outstanding job… Thanks Mike! The webpage address is www.mcftoa.org

Also a motion was made by Stewart Roth and Seconded by Natalie Rodda to have e-mail addresses placed on the web Site. Motion Passed

  1. Old Business:
  2. Stewart Roth made another presentation to the Training Officers to send 5 people from Monterey County to the Truck Academy in Riverside so that we can develop our own up here in Monterey.

    Five people will be selected from departments that currently operate truck companies.

    Motion was made by Stewart Roth. Seconded by David Brown. Motion Passed.

    Catey Trenner announced the Fire Command 1a class is January and February.

  3. New Business:
  4. Natalie Rodda made a request for assistance from the Training Officers to assist in getting equipment for the Fire Academy. Through a transitional purchasing agreement, MPC would give the Training Officers $5000.00 to by Radio Equipment for Seaside Fire. In return, Seaside would give the Training Officers SCBAs and Turnouts. The Training Officers would donate the SCBA’s and Turnouts to the Fire Academy (The butler is our prime suspect, Stews commentary).

    The Training Officers voiced both concern and support and requested a little more clarification.

    Stewart Roth discussed another upcoming RIC Class for Feb. 21st and 22nd (Class 1) and 23rd and 24th (Class 2). There will be a train the Trainer on the 20th. More to follow. Motion Made by Stewart Roth. Seconded by Catey Trenner. Motion Passed.

  5. Good of the Order:
  6. John and Catey Trenner discussed the success of the Golf Tournament for the 9/11 fundraising.

    David Brown made a motion to have an annual golf tournament. Seconded by John Trenner. Motion Passed.

    Catey Trenner was nominated for Secretary. Seconded, I think by just about everyone. Motion Passed. The 2002 Board Members are: David Brown, President (and also a Client) Stewart Roth, Vice President (and Straight Man), Catey Trenner, Secretary (willing and able) and of course Polly Fry as Treasurer.

  7. Adjournment:

Motion was made by Vice-President Brown to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by John Trenner. seconded. Motion passed
