updated library policy at the next MCFTOA meeting in December. Urquides also stated that
he will issue up to date inventory lists as departments pay their annual library
membership dues. After the question was posed, we will not convert to VHS to DVD until all
departments are up to speed on that type of technology .

one-day seminars we want. The seminar, "Helping Captains to be Captains" is
projected for next October. Motion for approval to book Mr. Stein made by M. Schuler,

- Haz Mat:
D. Gearhart reported that Seasides HazMat team is alive and well after Measure X
(to abolish the utility tax) failed. County Chiefs are researching a funding source to
help the HazMat team stay equipped.
Several local chiefs attended the Executive Counter Terrorism Briefing at the Embassy
Suites this week and found it to be very informative.
- High-Rise:
S. Roth will be hosting the High Rise Drill in December in Monterey. The drill will be
critiqued and have an after-action report done on it to help people understand what went
right, what needs improvement, etc.
New High Rise plan is being circulated.
G. EMS:
Peggy Earl introduced Greg Dukart as her replacement (No, shes not leaving).
She stressed that M.A.P. training still needs to be done with some departments. If you
still need it, please contact Jodi Schaffer at 624-5311 X1978 to schedule a time for the
training.
* G. Dukart inquired how many departments are still interested in pursuing the
combi-tube for their departments. He will be giving a brief introductory class on December
6, 2002 at 1300 hrs. at the EMS Agency to explain how the program is to work, the training
involved, and answer questions, comments, concerns, etc.
*P. Matteson brought up the air ambulance ordering policy. Stated that there are not
enough trigger points to automatically have an air ambulance ordered upon dispatch for the
rural areas. Concern is there is too much of a delay to wait for first arriving units when
they could be 45 minutes or so to arrive on scene. M. Schuler will take concerns to County
Chiefs meeting.
