MEETING MINUTES OF April 11, 2002
Oldemeyer Center, Seaside

Call to Order: President David Brown called the meeting to order. Meeting started at 1030 hrs.

  3. Approval of Minutes:
  4. Motion for approval of March 14, 2002 minutes by Paul Vlastelica. Second by John Trenner. Motion passed.

  5. Treasury Report:
  6. Balance or $24,741.62 – Motion to approve by Paul Vlastelica. Second by Miles Schuler, motion passed.

  7. Correspondence/Announcements:
  8. Good old Days being held April 13th and 14th in Pacific Grove, the Muster will be on Sunday April 14th.

  9. Committee Reports:
    1. ICS:

Contact John Trenner for any ICS training needs. Also S-290 will not happen in the near future, we do not have the instructors. We will try and schedule in January or February 2003.

    1. Wildland:

Still working with Fort Hunter Liggett on getting new areas to use, IC and Operations will be making a trip to Hunter Liggett on April 17th. IC will advise all staff ASAP if the school is a go.

C. Fire Library:

                    Mike Urquides is working on updating the materials.

D. Programs:

                    No new programs at this time.

Joe Pastore reported that the Truck class held at Fort Ord was a great success with 70 students attending. Thanks to Polly Fry for all her help.

Harald Kelley reported on the Elevator class, a total of 60 students attend and overall good information was presented. Harald also looking into Control 4a & 4b Propane class.

      Dan Gearhart - updates to follow on the status of the Seaside Haz-Mat team.

    3. High-Rise:

               High-Rise plan being updated.

Stewart Roth – all going well any information you would like to have posted contact Stewart at Monterey Fire Department Training Division.

  5. Good of the Order:
  6. Harald Kelley reported that Marina has a Thermal Imager that is available for Mutual Aid, Marina will send One Fire Fighter with the Imager on a Mutual Aid request.

    Office of Education bill is due this is where the Film Library is along with other items that are available to us to use. Motion to pay the bill by Stewart Roth, and Second by John Trenner motion passed.

    John Trenner would like to buy two EZ-up tents for the Training Officers, these tents can be used for events, rehab and at the Fire school total cost about $1400.00. In addition, the Training Officers Trailer will be set up for rehab when the tents have been delivered. Motion by John Trenner to purchase the Tents, Second by Stewart Roth motion passed.

    Dan Gearhart – Cal Star training will be held at Seaside City Hall on April 13th at 1300 hrs. Dan also stated that CCAI will be holding a class July 22nd and 23rd and plan to burn a large building at Fort Ord, if Departments are interested in the burn project contact Dan at Seaside Fire Dept.

    Mutual Aid response drill – Dave Brown and Stewart Roth reported the over all the drill went well, personnel need to have full PPE on and need to review the basics such as hose placements, communications and the Monterey County Operations manual.

Motion by Dan Gearhart to adjourn the meeting. Second by Miles Schuler. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 1145 hrs.
