Approval of Minutes:Motion to accept E-mail version of minutes by D.Gearhart, second by M.Schuler, Motion passed II. Treasury Report:No report provided III. Correspondence/Announcements:Sandy Ayella, a guest speaker from The Monterey County Health Department gave a short presentation on Abandoned wells in Monterey County. The presentation included how to identify, mark, and notify the Health Department upon discovery. These wells pose a health hazard to the people who live and work in the area. IV. Committee Reports:None to report A. ICS:None to report B. Wild land:S. Negro reported on the up and coming Wildland school. At the previous Wildland meeting, the group voted to increase the registration fees by $10.00 to help offset the rising costs to put the school on. Motion by J.Trenner to increase the Reg. Fees by $10.00, Second by N. Rodda, Motion passed. S. Negro reported on some proposed budget changes for the school. A plans trailer from North Tree Fire for $3000.00 and the tents may cost up to $3500.00 . J.Trenner is working on reducing the cost of the tents. The Overhead staff met with the authorities of Hunter Liggett to line up our operational needs prior to the school. C. Fire Library:A motion by D.Brown to purchase a harassment Training series for $316.00, second by R. Foster, Motion passed D. Programs: N. Rodda passed out an overview of the classes that earned MPC dollars through February. N. Rodda encouraged those who are hosting classes to fill out MPC reg. Forms and get $$$ for training hours for the T.O.s . N.Rodda reported that the requirements for a Fire Science Degree have changed for the better. Look for the requirements to be published soon. E. Training and Standards: D. Brown reported on the need to “get back to the basics with Haz-Mat training” was the discussion at the Monterey County Chiefs F. Highway safety: J.Cassillas reported that the Tuesday night class in Soledad had 40 people attend and the Wednesday class had 70 people attend from various agencies. S. Negro suggested that a committee of T.O.s and County Chiefs should be formed to develop a countywide SOP for traffic safety.
