MEETING MINUTES OF JANUARY 17, 2002
CITY OF PACIFIC GROVE FIRE STATION

Call to Order: President David Brown called the meeting to order. Meeting started at 1030 hr.

  3. Approval of Minutes:
  4. Motion by Mike Vindhurst for September 13 2001 Minutes. Second by Harold Kelly Motion passed.

  5. Treasury Report:
  6. Beginning Balance (12/01/01) of $33,193.99

    Total Inflows: 6,373.31

    Total Outflows: -9,095.91

    Ending Balance (12/31/01) of $30,471.39

    Motion made by President Brown to approve treasury report. Seconded by Mike Vindhurst. Motion passed.

  7. Correspondence/Announcements:
  8. Harold Kelly announced that Bob Rader is retiring, his last day will be March 1st completing 32 years of service. His retirement party will be March 2nd and flyers a fourth coming.

  9. Committee Reports:
    1. ICS:

Phil Matteson advised that we now have instructors for the S-290 course, and requested a preferred date for the course. It was decided that we would shoot for mid-April. Phil was advised to identify the cost of the course and return it to the T.Os

                    Motion to approve by Harold Kelly. Seconded by Mike Vindhurst. Motion passed.

                    ICS 200 class at Mid-Valley Fire, Sunday 02-24-02 @ 0900 currently accepting students. Contact                       Mid-Valley Fire.

    1. Wildland:

Mike Vindhurst advised that Fort Hunter Liggett Fire has offered to provide shower facilities for the Wildland Fire School.

               C. Fire Library:

Henry Ramirez request to postpone any further activities with the Fire Library until it has been taken over by his replacement.

D. Programs:

 

Harold Kelly reminded of the elevator rescue class. He will be coordinating with Stewart Roth for location and logistics. Dates to be early April.

Mike Vindhurst/Joe Pastore; presented the St. Louis Aerial Operations course, this would be limited to 45 students per day and could be given on two consecutive days. 1 day cost would be $2,400.00 and a 2 day course would be $3,100.00. It was reccomended that the TOs sponser the course through MPC @ a cost of $25.00 per student. Tentatively the course would be delivered sometime in march and the classroom portion of this course would be delivered at North County FPD Station #1 and the Field operations would be delivered at the Ord Military Community.

Motion to approve by; Mike Vindhurst and seconded by Natalie Rodda. Motion Passed.

    3. High-Rise:

David Brown reminded of the High Rise drill scheduled for January 30th, 31st and 7th of February.

  1. Old Business:
  2. Jerry Wombacher presented the following proposal to the TOs;

    The City of Seaside would like to benefit the City, the TOs and MPC through a joint agreement to reutilize City of Seaside resources by, The TOs trading $3,000.00 worth of Kenwood portable radios for $3,000.00 worth of portable radios to be identified. Additionally

  4. Mike Vindhurst proposed that the TOs purchase a copy of the Fire Studio computer program for the Fire Library @ a cost of $500.00.

    Motion to purchase by Mike Vindhurst, Seconded by Henry Ramirez. Motion Passed.

  5. Good of the Order:
  6. President Brown reminded that annual dues are due again for both the Fire Library and Membership. President Brown also stated that membership is fluctuating and asked that we make known to our agencies that membership is open to all and all are welcome.

  7. Adjournment:

Motion was made by Mike Vindhurst to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Harold Kelly. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 1200 hrs. Next meeting will be at North County Fire Station #1
