I. Approval of Minutes:Motion by N. Rodda to accept the e-mail version of the minutes. Second by M. Shuler, motion passed. II. Treasury Report:D. Brown presented the treasury report provided by Polly Fry. Motion by B. Hinckley to accept the report as provided. Second by J. Trenner, motion passed. III. Correspondence/Announcements:D. Brown reported that the Chiefs Dinner will be held this Saturday, January 15th at the Pacific Grove Community Center, starting at 6:00 PM. There will be a no host bar and dinner will begin at 7:00 PM. Tickets 30.00 dollars available at the door. IV. Committee Reports:A. ICS:Check the CDF training schedule for upcoming classes. B. Wildland:Chief Negro will be the IC for the 2005 Wildland Fire School. The first meeting was held with the command staff for the school and the wildland committee will be meeting one hour before our regular meeting starting next month. Chief Lemos is reviewing the lesson plans for the school and a draft of a month-by-month checklist of things to be done by the IC, Command and General staff was passed out. Motion by D. Brown to request June 9,10,11,and 12th as our first choice for the dates for the 2005 school. Second by J. Trenner, motion passed. The first weekend in June shall be our 2nd choice. J. Trenner to check with vendors to see how they can help this year so we can have a draft budget by March for this years school. MPC forms to be part of the registration process this year and we will sell any hats or shirts that we have remaining at the school. R. Foster recommended that we should encourage departments to send Type 1 engines, as they have proven to be very effective with the proper training at the school. Suggestions for the 2006 school included looking for WMD funding and also developing classes for the school ICS positions before the school. Use of trainees/task books during the school was discussed. M. Shuler will look into this. C. Fire Library: None to report D. Programs: J. Cassillas reported that the Highway Safety Committee’s pre –meeting at Soledad Fire on Jan. 12th with the CHP, County Sheriff and other Agencies went well. The CHP and Sheriffs departments are moving forward with the MOVE OVER SLOW DOWN legislation. The Highway Safety Seminar date has been set as February 16th at Seaside Highlands community center. (Flyer to be sent out). On the evening of the 15th, there will be a 3 hour condensed class for the South County agencies (Flyer to be sent out). Motion by S. Turner to adjust the budget for this seminar by an additional 300.00, if needed. Second by J. Trenner, motion passed. E. Training and Standards: None to report F. Web Site: M.Ventimiglia reported that the site has been updated with new meeting dates and officers. We also have some good Hot Links on the site and if you can get the info to him in a timely manner he will continue to update. N. Rodda will be looking into the cost of software updates for the web site and report back on the price. G. Charity Fundraiser / Golf Tournament: J. Trenner will meet with those that want to help with this after the next regular meeting. V. Old Business: None VI. New Business: We now have 35 SCBA available for training needs. Contact J. Trenner if interested. J. Field handed out the 2005 Monterey County Aquatic Rescue training schedule and is working on an open water rescue class for the future. VII. Good of the Order: · Trenner has put together a training class for Type 1 Engines, supporting Helibase operations. Contact him for further info. · J. Cassillas reported that the sentencing hearing on the Mario Cunha case will be held Feb.25, 2005 at the Salinas Court House at 8:30 AM. He would like to see as many fire service members as possible attend. · Chief Negro reported that the New Generation Radio Task Force held its first meeting and that anyone purchasing radio equipment should be sure that anything they buy has narrow banding capabilities. More to come in this regard it will affect ALL radio users. VIII. Adjournment: D. Lindsey called for a motion to adjourn. D. Brown made the motion for adjournment at 12:15 hours. Second by N.
